GREAT GRAY OWL
This owl whirligig features an iron head and legs. The metal head is affixed to a wooden body constructed from distressed barnwood. The owl's wings rotate, one side clockwise and the other side counterclockwise.
Body measures 21-1/4 " H x 9" L x 9" W
Wings measure 17-1/4"
This whirligig is a TABLETOP model. It may be placed on a table, deck, fence post, or directly on the ground. The whirligig is NOT constructed to be mounted on a post. It does not have a pivot tube, nor does it come with the 5" stainless steel nail. It is complete and ready to be placed outside on any flat surface or may be used indoors as a decorative piece.
The whirligig is heavy (3 lbs. 4 oz.) in relation to most of my other whirligigs... A windy setting may require the use landscape stakes for stability ...Two landscape stakes are included for securing the whirligig into the ground. Instructions for use of landscape stakes with are included with purchase of the whirligig.
Some assembly is required. Wings will not be attached during shipping. Instructions will be included for attaching the wings.
All of my whirligigs' bodies are cut from pine and wings from finnish birch, painted with exterior acrylic paint, and sealed with Polyshield Hydrocote...a weather resistant protectant. I use brass hardware (screws, washers, bearing, propeller and pivot tubes). High quality products are used to make my whirligigs more durable.
