The whirligig's body is cut from 3/4" pine. The cat's body is stationary. The rudder blades are cut from finnish birch, painted with exterior acrylic paint, and sealed with Polyshield Hydrocote...a weather resistant protectant. When the wind blows the hub holding the wood blades with the mice rotates. The mice have spiral wire tails. I use brass hardware (screws, washers, bearing, propeller and pivot tubes). High quality products are used to make my whirligigs more durable. A 5-1/2 inch stainless steel nail and instructions for mounting are included.

**When you purchase a whirligig, you WILL NOT receive a whirligig post/stake. You will receive a 5" nail and mounting instructions ONLY. If you wish to purchase a ready-made whirligig post, there are several variations of posts for sale in my shop.

Some assembly is required. Rudder is not attached during shipping. Instructions will be included for attaching it.
